I have an easel

It's a foldy wooden one. I love it. The only problem is that now I am definitely The Most Pretentious Person Ever, but if I can be that and still paint I'll probably survive.

Why on earth did I spend so long not painting? Anyone?

Well, there was a rather long time when you spent pretty much all of your time & energy just surviving... I am so, so glad to hear that you're enjoying painting, and I can't wait to see some pictures!

I keep forgetting that part!

I'm trying to keep lots of canvases on hand so that I don't feel bad for using them up when they're nearly gone. I'm not sure yet how we'll display them, if we do.

Easels are a tool that many painters use. Painters are people who paint. If an easel is pretentious, than so is a regular person who is not a chef having a good mixer, or a person who is not a writer owning word processing software.

I think it's even more pretentious not to have one, flap one's hand, and say 'Well, I'm only doing this for fun, of course!'
