This is a list of what we plan to give children; don't look if you want it to be a surprise!

I need to think of what we have, which gift is going to whom (I did that thing of buying a little every month) and whether we need to get more.

FOR US: A new fridge-freezer with doors which close and handles which don't come off. Uhoh.

FOR CHILDREN

Oscar (age 8): Danny Champion of the World DVD
Sadhbh (age 7): Dolphin Window Mosaic kit
Orla (age 5): The Gruffalo magnet book
Síog (age 2): Maisy's Farm pop-up book

Fia (age 2): Book about "The Nutcracker" which plays loud music
Seán (age 1): Little Rabbit Foo Foo book + DVD

Katie Gill (age 1): The Tiger Who Came To Tea (book and chine tea set)

---

2 sleds, which they may well get to use ahead of time
LEGO Advent calendar
Buy Ponyo DVD for Emer, give Linnea Numberjacks, which she'd prefer really; much less scary. DVDs aren't really personal possessions anyway.

Emer: 200 pieces Knex, Russian Doll, Numberjacks DVD, 4 Milly Molly Mandy books in a box,

Linnea: Floor puzzle of solar system, Usborne Very First Dictionary In Spanish, bead loom, 3 Usborne Beginners books

Astrid: Can't you sleep, little bear? book + DVD (we already have the board book)

O: Usborne Puzzle Adventure book
F: Carrying book
L: Marley book?
P: Colouring book?

I seem to read new eyeglasses, or a better attention span, or something. Because I initially read that you were giving Emer "200 pieces Kleenex."

I stole this idea for Charles and he LOVED it. It was the best present that Christmas.

I haven't planned what to give Sophie yet. She's getting one of those Fisher Price activity centre type affairs from my Dad, and some wooden blocks and a CD of lullaby-style punk classics from my Mum. I might try to find her something with wheels.

"a CD of lullaby-style punk classics"

Do you have any more info about this? I have several friends whose children need one!

ARGH! Are you doing one calendar (lego) between 3 or 2? We are very much not doing PM like last year and I am muling over (in a fast and desperate manner) what kind to do this year.

I really don't want to do that again this year, cos its too expensive, but L won't eat chocolate, so it's either a picture one (if you can still get those) or I try and find the reindeer wallhanging and make it up as I go along.

I'm wondering if sharing a lego one would be a good lesson in sharing Lego or a daily nightmare for us!
