The Rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen authors (poets included) who've influenced you and that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes.

Alice Walker
Georgette Heyer
Terry Pratchett
e. e. cummings
Oscar Wilde
Emma Donoghue
Keri Hulme
Lois McMaster Bujold
Margaret Atwood
John Holt
Anne Enright
Gabrielle Palmer
Lauren Childs
Roald Dahl
Betty McDonald

... what a strange list.

It is an interesting list, all right. :-)

This is a fun exercise in considering your influences, although having done it, I'm not sure it's the best method to use. Some authors' work is so ingrained that it doesn't even spring to mind when you sit down and think about it.

I could have mentioned Roald Dahl and C.S Lewis. I do like e.e cummings.

As a teenager J.D Salinger, George Orwell, Albert Camus and Jeanette Winterson influenced me and of course the classics like the Bronte sisters, Wilkie Collins and D.H Lawrence.
