Domestic list again
Nov. 4th, 2010 04:25 pmMade own bed, dressed, teeth etc.
Hung a load of clothes inside, a load of nappies outside,so that the sun can bleach them a bit.
Cooked breakfast and lunch.
Disassembled two rings on the cooker to work out what was wrong with one; cleaned the bit the gas comes out of, tested it with a match (don't try this at home) and reassembled it. It's fixed now.
Sorted three loads of laundry; washed two of them.
Polished bathroom taps. I do this a couple of times a day and it does keep the limescale off but it's boring. Still, it only takes about 2 seconds if I do it often.
Thought about writing a post about laundry-hanging, and how I shake nappies out to make them dry flatter and softer so that they will be more comfortable to wear.
Did two dishwasher loads, then handwashed more than half of the second one. Set the dishwasher to run a cleaning cycle, as it's obviously full of crud. I think I'd like to give it a descaling cycle too, and then refill properly with rinse aid and salt.
Took delivery of a parcel of clothes for the children.
Oh, got everyone dressed, too.
Tidied my handbag after the children emptied it and scattered the contents.
Looked up a load of books for the children online and ordered them from the library.
Prepped the chicken and stuck it in the oven, it should be ready about 6pm. No idea what we're having with it really.
Mary came for a couple of hours; I did tea and cake for her.
Did phonics with Linnea and counting with Emer. She's not always confident of counting.
Failed to put clean dry laundry away properly. Bah.
Swept floors, changed nappies, helped children in the loo, etc.
Cleared a kitchen counter.
