No, really not. Though we had a small one a few years ago, I don't think it would have moved the high shelf.
I want about £1000 and a carpenter who takes instructions and follows them, and then I have a Grand Master Plan. It won't be quakeproof, but it might mean I had somewhere to put everything.
I doubt I'll ever get the tea-and-coffee stuff to take up less space though. Ever ever.
When we moved in here, Rob was constitutionally incapable of closing a cupboard door on the upper units, and they were all at just the right height to GET me, either turning around or standing up from bending over a worktop, or something. A few right-angled cuts and bruises and we first ripped the doors off and then ripped the units down.
Looking at your pictures, I envied your shelves. We don't have many shelves for a similar reason: Taras' old scalp injury makes him very nervous around sharp corners at head-height, and so he resists the instalation of high shelves.
I love our pantry and we are considering putting a countertop-height fridge in the bottom half of it; we can't put a chest freezer in there because the microwave is there.
We have a full sized IKEA bookshelf in our kitchen acting as a pantry, since the house sadly came without a pantry. We are awaiting availability of funds to have our neighborhood carpenter build us a pantry cupboard that is the twin to one my neighbor has, which I adore.
Nice. Clean and cute house. Love the multicolour tiled floor.
Noticing your sink spigot does not look like the ones in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, there is a little wall heater that the hot water line is connected to and water is heated on demand of local use. Is this only typical in Netherlands or other parts of Europe and not the UK?
Do you have central heat, or not?
I'm curious about a lot of things including how old your house is. =)
