Reading

Unusually for my postnatal life, I've been reading a book I never read before. It's the only John M. Ford I could find in the library system, and it's The Dragon Waiting. elisem, I am utterly confused by it and enjoying it a lot when it's not turning my stomach. I intend to find more of his work in Abebooks or similar and read them.

But first I have a few Diana Wynne Jones to try.

I work with someone at the moment who looks just like the weirdy boy (Julian?) from Time of the Ghost. Which I read nearly 20 years ago so just goes to show the impact that boy had me!

This also reminds me to reread Archer's Goon for the nth time.

We read Archer's Goon to the Weasel when she was five, and were impressed with how she kept up with the storylines.

Then, when we were just coming up to the climax at the end she gasped and said "[spoiler that solves the ongoing mystery of the entire book]!"

And she was RIGHT.

I like it, but have no idea what it's about even after finishing. There's annotations somewhere on 'tinternet.
