I took yesterday off and went to a birthday party, so all my Monday loathing is saved up for today. The house is revolting, the children are behaving vilely in the usual way, and I keep finding good intentions everywhere; washed, damp, musty laundry which needs to be rewashed; piles of food waste which were en route to the proper composting but never got there; salvaged leftovers on high shelves which have to be used up right now or binned; piles of clean laundry shoved out of sight and used as a cat bed... I hate Mondays.

But we all had a video-chat with Rob, in the Californian pre-dawn. Living in the future is weird.

If you need any shopping done while he's away let me know- I can easily get to Morrisons (less easily Sainsburys and I know you don't like Asda or Tesco) and drop stuff off on my way home.

Where in CA is Rob visiting?

I love video-chat too - when my partner is in a research tent in the Arctic, I use Skype to chat with him there. It's so amazing for keeping families connected.

Yup, found the bookstore whilst looking for food on monday night (just flown in). It has the largest SF section of any bookstore I've ever been in I think.
