It looks like all those contractions were to move things around; the bump has moved. There's more of it low down inside my pelvis now, so it's smaller, lower, and more comfortable. My clothes are fitting better than they did three days ago, which is a huge relief. We got some photos today which I will upload later somewhere.

Also, the contractions are less vicious now, and less... wavey, more Braxton-Hicksy.

So last night I slept all night, woke up and had a drink of water, some orange juice, some breakfast cereal, and some tea, and after Emer had finished cuddling me and I'd finished eating, I went back to sleep until after 11 am. Then I had a bath. I feel considerably better.

We need to get a bunch of stuff out of the attic for the baby, and have a serious cleanup upstairs.

Rob has been very energetic and cheerful. The new job suits him brilliantly. This morning he finally did some DIY that has been waiting for months and months - shelves in the front room - and also repaired last week's trike puncture, sorted out the gears on the trike, and ran some errands.

And Taimatsu came over and we weighed towels and sorted them for dying; the first load is in the washing machine right now. I hope they come out ok. There's no reason why they shouldn't, of course. Then we'll have a whole set of matching family household everyday towels, enough for everything we need, I hope. I would really, really like that.

Now Rob is coming back from Argos with a deep bookcase for the children's room and hopefully a saddle-cover for the trike for him.

Glad things are more comfortable, I hope this continues for as long as possible.

Hurrah for energetic and cheerful Rob too.

How fabulous that Rob is energised :) I think this is Andy's problem, he's stressed at work, so is stressed at home. I know how he feels.

Glad to hear the contractions a) had a purpose and b) have calmed down a bit. Also pleased to hear that Rob enjoying work is having a knock-on effect at home for all!

Good stuff! My bump never really settled down very far, I guess because she was facing forwards right up until labour and stayed quite high in my pelvis. I am so relieved to be rid of that horrendous squashed feeling inside.

But Emer DOESN'T LIKE RED. She said so, firmly, as I was hanging the first lot out.
