I kind of want to water the grass this evening. It had its very first mowing today. But the waterbutt is empty.

Also, we need to know where and how to get the blades on the (manual) lawnmower sharpened.

My thoughts go like this: the grass drying out would need re-seeding or re-planting, and that would take more water than just keeping it watered. Watering after dark is good, less water loss through evaporation.

I think it's going to rain tonight/tomorrow, so that might help your dilemma.

As for the blades, ask either at a local tiny DIY shop, or at a cobbler. They seem to know these things.

Our local gardening tool emporium sells a kit for sharpening manual reel mowers:

(scroll down to the bottom of the page)

You might be able to find something similar on your side of the pond?
