It had a low point involving a concoction of nontoxic medical substances which dyed the children's carpet blue in spots, but apart from that it was lovely. I woke very early but the weather was so nice I didn't mind, and the children woke cheerful, and the house was fairly clean and habitable so the morning was low-stress, and the Sainsburys delivery was on time and exactly fit into the available places in the fridge, freezer and so on.

The beautiful weather meant we all wore dresses and spent time in the garden, and I did almost all the available laundry - I think we'll have a full load to do the day after tomorrow, but not before then. The laundry dried while the next load was washing, which is the way I like it to be!

Breakfast was muesli-enhanced porridge. We had ham sandwiches for lunch, which is a big treat because ethical lunch meat is difficult and expensive to obtain so we don't have meat sandwiches much and the children love a ham sandwich. I, um, was so hungry I forgot to put the ham in one of them, though, and had to add it later after it had been quartered trianglewise.

Later in the afternoon [livejournal.com profile] velcro_kitten came with her children and we brought a mango to their house, and the children played and we drank tea, and we had gingerbread men, mango and strawberries.

It feels like summer.
