Sleep tracking
Jan. 2nd, 2013 03:48 pmI installed an app on my phone which tracks my movement. I lay the phone on the mattress between me and the wall, and it records my level of movement and noise, and turns that into an idea of how deeply I am asleep. It uses this to wake me during periods of increased movement and lighter sleep, so the alarm isn't as disturbing and I wake feeling more awake.
It seems to work.
It seems to work.

Date: 2013-01-02 04:43 pm (UTC)I looked into sleep-tracking apps a year or so ago, but they were dreadful - the one I had recommended to me basically assumed that when your phone was turned off, you were asleep. Which is useless - particularly since I don't turn my phone off at night. I'd heard there were cleverer apps, but mostly from people who said they didn't work well...
