Apr. 20th, 2009 08:43 pmSo everyone seems to be talking about it. Do I want it? Do I know people with invite codes available? I have a permanent LJ account so no financial incentive to stay or leave; they've had my money, there's no continuing financial relationship.
Do tell. I seem to have missed something while I was away.

Date: 2009-04-20 08:58 pm (UTC)I have an account in order to see what it's like - if enough of my friends make the switch it would be nice to go with an LJ-like service which has less in the way of big-business pressure and more openness and people-like-me-ness. If you see what I mean. Extreme sleep deprivation is killing my vocabulary one word at a time.

Date: 2009-04-21 12:29 pm (UTC)I have an OpenID login thanks to LJ (and you could too) and that might get an invite code. Either by invite code or by paying for an account when it comes out of beta, I will probably get an account and start playing around there. I might use it to try out more serious writing and keep LJ as a diary. Or vice versa.
I doubt I'll leave LJ entirely, but they've got cross-site compatibility done quite well.
I am in no rush; my capacity for mucking around on the internet has plenty to keep it busy until the site comes out of beta.
