What is it?
Mar. 31st, 2010 10:32 pmToday Linnea was asking about things which are real and not real - and not liking the answers. Fairies and wizards and magic and miracles - real or not real? I tried to explain that I didn't think they were "real," in the sense she meant, but that people all over the world and all through time had thought of them and believed that they were real, so they are real inside people, and isn't that good enough?
No, she said, it's not. She almost cried.
I know! I said. I know something that's real, but you can't touch it - you can't touch it or taste it or see it or hear it or smell it. You can't tell it's there or prove it's real. Want to know what it is?
She stopped crying, looked interested.
Love. Is love real?
Yes, she nodded at me, and began to actually smile, properly. She even said it aloud Love is real.
But it's inside people, I said. Only inside, not outside at all.
She got very thoughtful.
Then I made her get dressed and we rushed out to get to her eye appointment and we missed a train AND a bus, but it was ok. I think it was a conversation worth being late for. (Oh, and her eyes are fine).

So he has as sense that things exist in other worlds, that we can't access. I suppose it's from us, but I'd not be sure quite how. Except that mathematically, we do talk about such stuff, so it's probably pure us.
Probably.
I've been thinking about the death issue. Could the actual 100% accurate fact, that energy can neither be created or destroyed, only changed form, be helpful here?
Because we believe in a life after death, we have no problem saying so. But we are equally open to it noth being true... but what is impossible to avoid, is that all energy *is*. Both all created as we know it, and unable to be destroyed. So the energy of human life will always exist, somehow. (A bit like the love, actually).
I think I mentioned before, that Hugh doesn't like death either, but self-elected to decide that people who die, get recycled. In that primal energy sense, it's true. Just a thought.
