It's a lovely day for laundry - I've done the handwashing, even - and swinging on the swing and seeing on the saw and bouncing on the trampoline. And it's a lovely day for mowing the lawn, ish, and raking the winter's leaves off it, and finding all sorts of toys hidden in the long grass.

If this continues we'll have a usable garden by the end of the week - one people could come and sit in, even.

It's glorious weather.

Poor Linnea will be FORCED out into it shortly. She'd rather stay in the front room looking at books. Why she doesn't want to look at the outdoors is beyond me. But she has to come to the dentist with me - no choice there!

My little granddaughter (same age as Linnea) had to be forced out into the garden this lovely sunny weekend. The thing which finally persuaded her was being given a box of coloured chalks and allowed to draw pictures on the patio.

I was one of those children who'd rather have read than gone outside to play. My mother's solution: She sent me outside *with a book*. And thus I learned the considerable pleasures of sitting under a tree reading ...

I *hated* being forced outdoors. In spring, it was too cold to sit still, and in summer it was hot, sticky, full of bugs. And any time there was pollen out there, I was allergic to it. Is there something out there that makes her uncomfortable?

Outdoors is over=rated in my opinion. It has drafts and hot sun and nowhere comfy to sit and creepy crawly and flying things ... and other people making happy outdoor noises ... and smells too ... but I think I liked it when I was little and I could go climb trees and throw balls around and make mud pies ... your Linnea is *so* mature for her age, LOL.

Ooh, now there's a thought. DD enjoys the garden anyway, but I bet she'd love that :)
