I had a chunk of sleep almost four hours long last night, so I feel fabulous. Also, after that, I had a lovely dream. I was pregnant with the little brother Linnea has ordered, and planning a homebirth. And contractions started, painlessly, just a feeling of solidity (which is much how they felt under epidural, come to think of it). I also thought my waters broke. I went to hospital to get it checked out and a midwife started to reach for my cervix; "I do not consent to an internal examination," I said, twice. Then I said "Stop that, that's assault, I demand to speak to a supervisor immediately." The midwife cried and went away and her supervisor arrived and congratulated me on knowing that unnecessary internal exams can introduce infection etc and then she did a visual check and said "Oh, yes, there it is," and I said "What? Tell me it's not a prolapsed umbilicus!" and she said "No, it's being born," and I reached down and caught my baby's head. It took HOURS to get the rest of the body out but the baby's face kept laughing so that was ok.
The complicated part was trying to contact Rob (who wasn't there) to get his agreement on the baby's middle name before I announced the birth online. I was a bit miffed about delivering in hospital but there hadn't been time to go home so that was ok. I was home for lunch.
This morning we went to BfN supervision round the corner and then came home and had lunch. The children have been doing complicated projects which I don't understand and am not involved in.
Also, this morning, an Amazon parcel arrived to the Mizzes Collier, and we don't know who it's from. Thank you, whoever you are!
