She's gone now, but I'm still reeling with delight.

Pol's very recently been affectionate, instead of pushing me away because he's so stressed that cuddling me seems like yet more hard work.

This is not at *all* the same thing as you describe, but the reeling with delight, that may be similar.

I can completely understand your comment. My WeeMan (2.5 yo) has been very much a daddy's boy lately and very affectionate. He loves curling up on my lap for a story or a cuddle.
