I'm trying to figure out if the United States has ever had a sexier first couple.
I mean, JFK and Jackie were stylish and good-looking, but I don't think they quite nailed the "sexy" like Barack and Michelle.
Frances Cleveland was pretty hot, but Grover didn't really have anything going for him in the "hotness" department. I mean, he wasn't ugly or anything, but yeah.
For that matter, are there ANY hotter political couples worldwide? Sure, here in the US, Elizabeth Kucinich is probably actually an avatar of Aphrodite in human form, but she's married to Dennis, who, for all that I love his politics and mind, looks pretty much exactly like a garden gnome, which brings down the average precipitously.
Anyway, he hasn't saved the world yet (well, not the USA, which isn't the world though many Americans forget that a lot of the time, including me). But I believe he just may. (And it feels weird to even say I believe in a politician. But this time I do.)
Honestly, before the first day in office, I was much more interested in his wife, but now I'm actually getting interested in the man who was actually, er, up for election, and all.
Ignoring politicians was a bit of a habit of mine.
(And America has obscene power over the rest of the world; he really does get to decide to what extent much of it is fucked up).
Oh, and last time I believed in a politician, it was President Mary Robinson, who changed my country and then ran off early to help sort out the UN. Sometimes, they really do...
My original unposted comment read along the lines of "he's intelligent, witty, has good taste (look at his wife!), good genes (look at his children), a lovely voice and morals.
