Lovely day

We were very productive. I cleaned the front room, including the unshelved books and dusting the bookshelves, and Rob ran errands including buying a Christmas tree, and we put lights and a star on it, and we had unexpected guests and Rob wrapped their gift and the kids all played together, and we had leftover shep pie for lunch, and played games (Emer likes controlling the music for musical statues) and Linnea ASKED me to READ to her, and Emer demanded that EVERYONE read to her and also she read to Linnea, and the cats are cheerful and the house is messy but clean and we washed the tablecloth on hot and it's still stained so it's bleach or nothing.

We are officially the last people we know without a Wii and we're really trying hard to figure out what we'd do with one, because neither Rob nor I care. But we're considering something on which Linnea can play Tetris.

We are spending the evening watching Never Mind the Buzzcocks and baking cakes, so perhaps we're just ooooold.

But the kids are so great you have no idea how great they are.

If only they would sleep all night.

We don't have a Wii and we will not be getting one for health and safety reasons. Anyone trying to put a jumper on while stood in our lounge skins their knuckles on the ceiling, so any game we have seen so far on the Wii would result in injuries to those playing.

The great thing about this house is that I can change the light bulbs standing on the floor in bare feet.

The bad thing is that tall guests end up hitting their head on the low beams no matter how much we warn them.

If you're just wanting something you can play Tetris on, the Playstation 2 does that quite nicely (along with a lot of other games) and is a lot cheaper than the Wii. :)

We don't have any kind of gaming console, and we're happy that way.

(If we do ever crack and buy one, it will, however, be a Wii.)

We put up our Christmas tree yesterday too :-)

We don't have a Wii, but we do have a ps3, then again that is much more targeted for adults than families.

We are also the last people we know who don't have a Wii, which is particularly ironic since himself works in the videogame industry. He owned one of those hand-held-with-a-little-rectangular-screen game consoles for a few months (bought second hand from a co-worker) but never used it so sold it on again to another co-worker - but something like that (a Nintendo DS) would probably work well for Tetris for Linnea.
