Finally, finally, FINALLY, after years of waiting and wondering why I hadn't inherited my mother's genes in this regard, I HAVE A WHITE HAIR.

OK, it's only one, in my eyebrow. But it's a start!

Pillar-box red hair with blue eyebrows, you are in my future. I can SEE YOU.

Other symptoms include really, really enjoying playing word games after the children are asleep, thinking the Reading Festival kids are incredibly cute as they rock up in their mothers' cars and their mothers help them carry the tents, sleeping bags, beer and novelty hats down the street, and clucking in irritation at postal delivery operatives who leave little red rubber bands lying around everywhere.

I'm so happy. If I work hard and age well, maybe I can be a bit like kightp later. I can learn how to do awesome, right?

Oooooh. You're the only other person I've come across, apart from me, who was delighted to find their first white hair! I waved mine triumphantly at my family and said 'this means WISDOM, this does!'

Dyeing eyebrows blue could be a fiddly and messy process... *grin*

I feel somwhat ambivalent about the white stripes in my beard. I like them well enough, but the bits that went white were the bits that were previously red. And I REALLY liked having red bits in my beard.

Two things:

1) Rubber bands: AAARRRGH! I pick them up and take them home. The wanton waste of something which is a perfectly reusable, precious natural material, that costs god knows what in environmental degradation, drives me up the wall, it does.

2) I see no reason for you to wait until you are Old to wear Purple. IYSWIM.

Hmm, yeah, bleach... Not great. Does your hair not take dye well? It's not that much darker than mine? I can't get pillarbox or tomato red on mine without bleach, but it's still possible to achieve a certain degree of redness by using those crazy colours they sell in hte goth shops and leaving it on for a long long time... As for the blue eyebrows, well. Um. Yeah. Good luck with that... *g*
