TEN TEN HALP OMG TEN

I've bought my bodyweight in cocktail sausages, biscuits, crisps, fruit juice based drink product, and little wafer flowers for decorating cakes.

I'm giving my daughter the use of a mobile phone for her birthday, one for her to carry around and call me when she decides to leave the park and go to the library, etc. I'm not certain ANYONE had one when I was ten, though Wikipedia swears they did. She's also asked for a digital watch, so there's that :)

Children's social lives are a minefield and a nightmare. I don't know how to help them with confidence. My own social circle has shrunk as I've become more and more ill, so I'm at a loss.

My daughter's doctor is fabulous and I love him. He respects her. My own doctor is also fabulous and I love her too.

But it has been more than ten years since I last felt well, and now my daughter is going to be TEN. YEARS. OLD.

I'm all smiling and misty and lump in throaty just thinking about her.

My youngest is also going to be ten. How in the name of absolutely everything is this even REMOTELY possible? I believe she is going to be inheriting her dad's previous phone for her birthday.
