We were ill. Astrid had croup. For three nights she couldn't sleep, was feverish, tried to get out of bed to escape from the pain and then stood beside the bed crying because it didn't work. I learned that Astrid's crying doesn't wake Rob. Nor does her coughing herself sick. But me kicking him viciously is very effective and he's very helpful when he is awake.

Anyway, I became exhausted and ill myself, unsurprisingly, and Rob kept the tea and bagels coming, fed the other two children their main meals, and laid the hardboard for the floor in the middle bedroom. He also painted one coat on a wall in there, so we're well on the way now.

Now I have my list for recovering from a weekend of no housework plus illness.

Done:
Had a bath with Astrid
Got everyone dressed
Dishwasher emptied, refilled, run
Two laundry loads washed and hung to dry, another load on, others sorted ready to go on
Dry laundry taken down and sorted into per-person baskets
Front room floor cleared and tidied
Dining room table cleared and tidied and cleaned
Brunch served to everyone
Sainsburys delivery sorted and put away, including repacking the freezer
Dining room floor partially cleared

To do:
Clear children's room floor
Hoover futon and return to sofa frame
Clear dining room floor
Clear kitchen surfaces
Cook dinner
Get kids ready for bed
