The current three are Mustard, Dust and Charcoal - male, and two female littermates. My first was a kitten called Marmalade which was rehomed quickly and my only other one was a kitten called Jude which was also rehomed. Well, not properly. Bet he rehomed himself though.
2. Would you ever move back to Ireland (to the country, not necessarily to your relatives or immediate family there)? (I wouldn't, as you know).
Only if my mother needed me to. I can envisage us all living there in her declining years so we could help care for her. And then moving back.
3. What's the coolest thing about a holiday in Sweden? (Sweden is where you and Rob went a few years back, right?).
Rob's glorious family. His Swedish relations are all, without exception, lovely people. It'd restore your faith in humanity wholesale. After that, I love their weather. Climate. Hot in summer, snowy in winter, very little of the relentless grey doom of the UK and Ireland.
4. Thoughts on Scottish independence? Yes you get to have an opinion. Everyone else does.
If they want it, why not? It's none of my business and I don't see that anyone living in England should get any kind of actual SAY.
5. When you paint, does emotional release come from the process of painting, or from the painstaking creation of something beautiful that you can look at afterwards? Or something else?
The feel of painting, especially with oils. The smell. The sight of the colours. The magic transformation of one thing into other things. And sometimes if I'm lucky the thing I get to look at afterwards. I try not to involve painstakingness at all.
