Hospital, home
Jan. 3rd, 2012 03:21 pmWe had to take Emer to the Eye dept at the hospital today, to see whether she has a squint (results: inconclusive, come back with eyedrops later). The weather was horrific; there are fences down and laundry scattered over several gardens, and right up until we left there were boats sailing by upside-down and farm animals being flung against the upstairs windows, more or less. So I got all three children weatherproofed and wrapped up and tied Astrid to me under my coat - I borrowed Rob's heavy winter coat so she'd fit - and packed our stuff into waterproof bags and tied our hoods on tight and then we left, and it drizzled halfheartedly until we reached the bus-stop, and by the time we changed buses in town it was all cheeping bluebirds and blue skies in the distance.
So that was nice.
In new year resolve news, I have figured out that I spend way too much energy on housework, without actually achieving anything like enough, and I need to put more energy towards self-care, so I have started up my Flylady checklists again, but this time I have put my self-care things as a higher priority than the housework things. We Shall See.
For now, I have coffee and chocolate and a sleeping toddler, so that's good.
