We had a friend over last night, in the squalor, and it was lovely - very low-key, somehow hours passed inconsequentially while we talked of nothing at all. That was good, because earlier in the evening Linnea fell downstairs and hit her face on the closed stairgate and split the outside edge of her eyebrow. Not as badly as her split lip, but badly enough.
Then this morning no-one could get up, and when we did, we did cleaning, tidying and painting. The ground floor is all, well, floory, rather than obstacley, now. Rob did zoom around trying to delivery party invitations, and he also popped into Argos to pick up...
An iPod! I have an iPod Classic and it has almost all our music on it, because Rob has been ripping it at work for a couple of weeks now. It's a little miracle. I can just listen to my music and not have to dig through piles of CDs and cases unable to find the things someone took out of the player and dumped in a heap. I look forward to using playlists and things, too.
I've had continuing tailbone pain, and my final wisdom tooth is erupting. This is not helping me any.
Rob experimented with tuna pasta for dinner. Linnea didn't like it, but she's getting pickier daily.
I'm really, really pleased about the tidying. The downstairs is now perfectly reasonable for a family of five, rather than an absolute hellhole with - I kid you not - mouldy cutlery in the living room. I just shouldn't get ill, me, the place falls apart. The mouldy cutlery (one spoon) is a new low, though. Urgh. But it's done now, and tomorrow I have normal picking-things-up tidying, and of course four beds' bedlinen to wash (plus a duvet), and clothes laundering, and so on. But that's ok. I'll tackle the kids' bedroom too. It'll be fine.
Maybe then we can have our LIVES back instead of this ridiculous one-virus-to-the-next malarkey. Jeez.
