In-law visit

Only one grossly offensive remark; Linnea said "I'm in charge!" and Granddad said "I've never met a woman who wasn't," or similar.

Farmor flinched and I muttered "That's why there are so many in government and at the head of industry," but we basically let it slide. He almost never visits and I didn't want to make that really never. But it's horrible that they are being exposed to that from someone they love from age 1, 5, 7 years old...

Still, Rob didn't grow up believing crap like that, so they'll probably be fine. Except that Rob wasn't in the attacked group. Hm.

Slow worms

We are slow wigglers today. The children were somewhat wired after yesterday's visit, and stayed up until after ten pm - Linnea was still awake after ten-thirty. But I slept well, because Rob remade the bed with fresh washed underblanket, sheet, duvet, duvet cover, pillowcases etc, and I love clean bedlinen. Love love love it.

I had some unpleasant dreams about running away from home as a teenager but one can't have everything.

So far today I've done a load of laundry, a dishwasher load, cleaned three children up, fed them breakfast and elevenses, cleared up a broken glass, cleaned out the Roomba, dressed myself in an awesome outfit (if I can get a child to photograph me I will), and had breakfast and fresh coffee. Oh, and posted a couple of photos to the home ed blog. It's almost lunchtime, but it's not bad for a very slow day. I think I want to make sure not to overdo it and end up ill again. Yesterday's collapsing from exhaustion wasn't great.

If anyone wants to pop over today and paint, that would be great.

Done at 12:50 pm:

Launder bedding for our bed
Bring in and sort clean dry laundry
Hang wet laundry
Weeded garden a bit
Brought four more tomatoes in to ripen indoors

To Do as of Noon:

Make lunch
Find Linnea's winter clothes, bought in sales over a month ago
Sort a bag for bringing to the charity shop; lots of my clothes are coming through the laundry cycle ready for it now.
Create art supplies order
Photograph, price and post the latest paintings to the blog, so people can buy them if they want
Get haircut for self and Linnea
Wash tetra packs for recycling
Take children cycling
