Parenting fail

I didn't want to make a fuss or be rude while we were visiting people, so I stayed out in the sun with Astrid even though I was too hot, because everyone else kept remarking delightedly on how lovely it was that the weather was perfect. Luckily, Rob and the older children don't feel as constrained by other people's emotional reactions to their behaviour as I do, so they wandered away from the group into the shade whenever they liked.

Astrid and I are both burnt. Her scalp is burnt, and I even have a burnt eyelid.

Well, that's me told, and at least it's mild pinkish burn, rather than serious. It shan't happen again.
