ailbhe: (linnea 4y1m and ailbhe)
Ailbhe: Thank you for sharing breakfast with me, and thank you for setting the table.

Linnea, bowing with her hand on her chest: Your sehhhhhvice.

Ailbhe: [howls with laughter]

Linnea: [beams and sighs in a satisfied way]

Teatime!

We just served Tea/Dinner/Supper to seven children under five. We had mashed potatoes, peas, beans, fishfingers, and meatballs. There was jelly for afters / pudding / dessert. It was fab.

It was really easy once I got the house moderately tidy. Rob peeled the potatoes last night so I was able to just boil them. Then I cooked things in stages today and kept them warm, which worked well for everything, and when the last guests arrived I cooked the peas and served up. The children ate mountains and then played nicely (loudly and energetically, but nicely, not fretfully) for about an hour and then they all went home to bed.

We do need to obtain more pink cups, as the only child who didn't want pink was Linnea, though Dylan settled for peach, instead.

We have now cleared the dining table and taken the extra leaf out and so this room is back to normal. The kitchen needs, well, the dishwasher, really, and the front room needs us to pick up a bazillion gillion bits of plastic and sort them and put them in appropriate boxes. The lego was being used as animal feed at one point ("No! That's my very favourite elephant!")

We also need to obtain more chairs.
