I've made two lots of one-pound-of-flour bread dough today but I got bored so now I have two pizza bases (wholemeal and rye) and 22 little white buns and a half-pound plain white loaf. I've never made a pizza or an iced bun from scratch before (unless it counts when I did it with someone else) so I'm interested to see how it turns out.

Emer sat on my back in the coorie and put the dough into the bun trays, one piece at a time. For a joke, she twice put two bits of dough in one bun, and beat on my back and laughed until I corrected it.

Linnea has been showing me letters. This is fantastic - it's the first time she's done letters and numbers with me for ages. She showed me s and t and o and m and a. Then she did numbers. If we're on the way back to normal, I 'll be delighted.

She has also expressed an interest in swimming lessons but I don't think the pool will take her for swimming (as distinct from not-swimming-and-with-a-parent) until she's four. The not-swimming classes are not interesting for her.

On Monday I stupidly used my unchildful time - Linnea at nursery and Emer asleep - to do housework. Emer woke exactly as I poured my first cup of tea. Today I have started with decaf coffee and buns and chocolate buttons (72% cocoa, apparently) and will proceed to hosuework later.

We've started looking at our Flylady lists again. Things are going better. The kitchen is staying usable, the meals are getting done, and the downstairs is habitable. If I can clear the laundry backlog I'll be laughing. I need to pack this weekend. Clothes for both girls and myself for two weeks - shouldn't be hard, right? I don't need to bring a buggy unless [livejournal.com profile] radegund wants one of my old ones for her new one, so I'll have a sling or two and a small nappy bag as carry-on, and a rucksack for the clothes. With judicious dressing I can make it a very small rucksack; make the poor children wear their raingear, etc.

Linnea had her first really good night since Christmas last night. No waking, no crying in her sleep, no screaming, no nightmares, nothing. She woke in a good mood. Rob and I are delighted, and it really showed in her behaviour this morning. I'm not banking on the restorative powers of one night, but it's hard not to hope that it's the end of the disturbances... it took six weeks, last time, and it's only been three this time. That would be good.

Not that three weeks of disturbed sleep for the whole family is good either, but it's better than six.

Rob will be so pleased when he can sleep all night again.

Nyoh?

I just wish I knew what it means. It's not a question, the tone is part of the meaning when it's a statement.

but I might not let you in. Meme: Ask me stuff. Comments screened, ask away.

But I don't actually guarantee to answer anything I'm not comfortable with.
