Sleep

If I don't get more than 5 hours sleep some night soon I'm going to haul off and slap someone across the face.

Or kick them really hard in the shins with boots on.

I keep wondering who it's going to be. I've started fantasising about strangers being unpleasant enough in public places to deserve having my pent up rage unleashed on them.

However, our meat order arrived, and I fried a ton of chicken wings; now there's some in a casserole for tonight's dinner and some baking with garlic for the freezer. If I am anaemic, we have enough meat to help me get over it.

I suppose soon I'll have to fry up a lot of mince and onions ready for pies and sauces, too.

Friends list

Well, that poll proved for sure that LJ needs to sort out their "friends list" confusion; the "trusted readers" list and "journals read" lists are so unalike that it was totally unclear. Which was kind of intentional. It's probably mean to perform social experiments on acquaintances but I do it to my children all the time. In fact, I suspect they might be a social experiment in and of themselves. Or two totally separate experiments.

But still no control-group baby. I suppose I must have forgotten to pick one up along with the manual.

It's a disciplinary issue

How does one impose nonviolent discipline on children at 4 am? Given that these days I swear generously when woken up and am very inclined towards physical violence?

I want to get Linnea one of those clocks that lights up when it's a civilised time to come into her parents. I want to cut Rob's soft palate out of the back of his mouth and plug his nose with it. I want a night in a hotel all by myself with earplugs and sleep drugs.

Fooood!

We had chicken and potatoes and carrots for dinner. Now there's a loaf each of white and wholemeal bread proving, and two trays of chocolate cupcakes in the oven. I think there may be flapjacks later, too.

The day is set to improve.
