Go to library long enough to hand slings over to BfN and get a book. Don't hang around in case I pass lurgy on to other people.

Phone local physiotherapist to reschedule appointment.

Phone hospital physiotherapist to schedule a first appointment.

Put photos in envelopes to post to family.

Order disposable nappies for trip to Ireland in a month.

SLEEP.

The HomeStart lady comes at 2 pm so I can hopefully nap while she's here. I have no idea how I'm going to make the phonecalls with my throat the way it is but you never know. I can do the online stuff ok.

Rob is looking forward to going back to work for a rest. We do have to work out how to get more rest into my life; I am still in intermittent post-surgery pain, SPD pain, and very tired. I'm sure it's the exhaustion that lets me catch these throat infections. I have to stop going out at weekends, I suppose.

12 weeks

Emer is 12 weeks old. She's chubby in all the right places. She has prolonged periods of attentive wakefulness. She generally doesn't need to be held when she's awake but she likes it; she doesn't mind being put down when asleep at all anymore. She often sleeps a 6-hour stretch and more than one 2-hour stretch. She enjoys sitting upright for brief periods. She's pretty good at sucking her thumb but not always as good as she'd like. She cries before going to sleep almost every naptime; she doesn't take to being nursed to sleep at all. The sling works, but she does cry.

She likes to hold things and really, really loves shaking a rattle and/or dropping something that makes a noise.

She also adores Linnea. Me and Rob too, of course, but there's nothing Emer enjoys more than having Linnea forcibly bundle her up in a fleece blanket and tuck her in enthusiastically before leaning her huge toddler head on her tiny baby face and yelling "All nice and cosy now! Now Emer can go asleep!" or similar.
