Especially to everyone who registered their relationship with the state this year. Rob and I registered ours with the state in 2003 in Reading Town Hall, surrounded by family and friends (all those eyes, my god, will I ever recover?) and it brings me great joy that so many more people can now do that. I think it's a fantastic thing to happen just before Christmas. It's a big big present to the whole country - the world is a little bit fairer than it was before.

I almost didn't get married at all, because of the lack of gay marriage, but the laws about child guardianship at the time decided me. Those laws have also since changed. I have no idea what I'd decide now but I'm happy with what's happened :)

Baby!

It's Christmas, and I have a baby, and someone else has *just* had a new baby, and someone else is about to have one any day now, and it's all about the BABIES RAH!

I intend to celebrate all the lovely sappy cards I've received of that famous teenage mother and her out-of-wedlock son, snuggling up and breastfeeding with gorgeous sappy expressions. I think that's a good thing to celebrate, whoever you believe they might have been really.
