Codeine addiction withdrawal
Jan. 7th, 2005 10:00 pmI think what's been wrong with me yesterday and today is probably codeine withdrawal symptoms.
http://www.addictionwithdrawal.com/codeine.htm says that these
and I haven't got headaches (though I did yesterday), irregular heartbeat, vomiting (I have the opposite...), or fever. I'm not even certain I have high blood pressure. So that's nice.include but are not limited to: * runny nose * sweating * muscle twitching * muscle pain * headaches * irregular heartbeat * nausea and vomiting * high blood pressure * fever * insomnia * dehydration * yawning * weakness * stomach cramps
I wasn't really aware of not taking the pills, even, because I always took them "as needed" and it hadn't really registered with me that I wasn't needing them any more.
Linnea seems to be unaffected so far.
If Linnea appears affected, or if I am still ill on Monday, I will go to the doctor. Otherwise, I'm just as glad to be getting the stuff out of my system and out of my milk, though it does mean sleeping downstairs to be near the bathroom... Rob made me up a beautiful bed on the sofa with bedding inherited from my Nana and his Mormor, and I have a stack of Bujold to get through.
It's inconvenient mainly because of my postnatal damage, but I have clean clothes down here with me so I shouldn't need to wake Rob even if, um, things get messy.
Really, if I'm going to be ill, at least it's for a good cause and in relative comfort. This is the end of my codeine addiction. Another checkbox on the way to normality.
