A mixed day
Feb. 13th, 2004 10:15 pmThe day started well, with a gift of a baby afghan in the post - a pride flag baby afghan, at that (though it is cunningly disguised in pastels, mothers-in-law, for the non-aggravating of). I am hugely grateful and have saved the return address until such time as I find some way of properly expressing my gratitude.
Then I got through my morning housework ok, but after that I crashed out totally. I didn't get going again until lunchtime, when I ate lunch and pranced (somewhat lumberingly, but pranced nonetheless) out of the house to (a) post my Ebay sale, and (b) attend my antenatal class.
My Ebay sale weighed 12g more on the Post Office scales than it did on mine, so I paid 13p more in postage than I'd bargained for, but it was still worth selling, so that's ok. My antenatal class had been replaced by decorators, so I called my midwife - who must be sick of me by now - who called the person organising the classes (who was the one who booked me in yesterday) who said that they'd been told about the decorators too late to find a new venue and the class was postponed until next week.
I took out my frustration on the upstairs clutter. It's nicer up there now. But I really do look forward to the day when we can afford to get rid of the carpets; I'm so tired of not being able to breathe, and it's worse now I'm pregnant. I'm glad Rob understood about having to get rid of the one in the bedroom, even if other people thought I was insane (the floorboards are ugly and noisy).
I periodically looked at my baby afghan throughout the day to cheer myself up.
After he finished work, Rob started building the new furniture, which is part record-player-stand and part bookcase.
People are bidding on my stuff on Ebay and I'm a bit bewildered that anyone would actually want any of it - most of it has been sitting around waiting for me to take it to the charity shop for ages. Also, if anyone wants to get me chocolate, I have registered my preferences with The ACME Chocolate Registry, using my real name as usual.
