Pat it and prick it and mark it with B

Niamh is leaving tomorrow, so she baked a sponge cake. A real old-fashioned one - just two pieces of sponge, jam, whipped cream, and a light dusting of icing sugar. We brought it over to Janice's house and fed it to her parents; Janice fed us pizza in return (she makes good pizza).

The sponge cake went down well, and Niamh and I ended up singing for some reason. I absolutely have to get lessons; I sing so rarely that my voice is actually going away and getting disobedient. Grr.

Between finishing the cake and going to Janice's, darthfi and G. came over to pick up their Christmas present and say Hi. They had an interesting Christmas. They didn't stay long, as we were on our way to Janice's and they were on their way home, but it was very pleasant. They left the present behind.

Also, Ellie from work called to say that she was ill and that she had been burgled. I told her to call in sick tomorrow. Her boyfriend is currently boarding up the back door of the house, and they can't touch anything much until the police get there.
