ailbhe: (geek)

So I've come up with a long-term solution for one of the problems we've been having with our database. Sadly, it means that instead of having a shaky database for the forseeable future, we have nothing until at least 2 pm today and then a more reliable database. Er, some people aren't at all happy with this. They'd prefer to be using a shaky one that loses data.

Thankfully the people I actually work with and sit near are very understanding and are, if not content, at least resigned to the inconvenience.

I can't believe I'm longing for the day when we upgrade to M$ SQL Server.

Please god, let me die. I can't take the guilt. Yes, it's undeserved, but I feel like I've just wasted everyone's time and it's all my fault. And now - what if it doesn't work? I want to be a dead person. It's quieter.

It's over now. The thing I was afraid wouldn't work actually did work, and people are - wait for it - grateful. Gods, the relief may kill me yet...
