Another mass update for a whole week.
May. 7th, 2002 08:33 pmMonday 29 April: Painted the rest of the furniture that we brought home from IKEA. Now we have shelves for the amp and turntable and records.
Tuesday 30 April: I didn't go swimming with Becky today because I had a period and my stomach was battering me from within.
Wednesday 01 May: I studied. A little.
Thursday 02 May: I attended the first Open University tutorial since I handed in my awful, depressing essay, and was told that I had actually improved on my previous grades. Quite exciting. Also, apparently we have something called Course Choice to do, which involves talking to the tutor for 15 minutes about what degree we'd like to do, having covered less than half the introductory course. Hmm. I'm skipping it; an hour on a bus for a 15 minute chat isn't my idea of a good time.
Friday 03 May: Our Furniture Arrived! Or most of it did. So we assembled the bits that needed to be assembled, and actually tidied the dining room a good deal. Oh, and started to paint the remaining shelves, which were delivered.
Saturday 04 May: We have a lovely new dresser in the alcove in the dining room. It's lovely. The room is tidy; very odd. Also, painted some.
Sunday 05 May: Today we decided, for no apparent reason, to paint the outside of the bay window. We did it mostly white, and I used filler to touch up the horrible craters on the sill. We'll do the sill in a contrasting colour soon (my, what contrasts with white? Well, we bought a gorgeous dark green a while ago).
Monday 06 May: I love bank holidays. We did a little more painting, after Inger left. She came to visit on her way back from Heathrow, where she was dropping some friends of hers. It was nice to have her visit when the place was tidy, for a change.
Tuesday 07 May: Back to work. Waking up and getting out of bed is easier when there's a tidy downstairs. I don't dread going downstairs, or something. So I was on time for work (a rare occurance, believe you me, and I was glad of it, because on Friday I was the only one who stayed until 5pm - everyone else left at 4:30. And the working day doesn't end until 5:30. Odd). After work I went swimming with Becky, which was delightful, and came home and made out my organic food order for Ellis Organics. Rob is cooking me dinner as I type, and I can smell the meaty pies and the lovely pink potatos . . .
