Christmas is beginning!
Clean children, clean rooms, lots of lovely food.
Tonight's meal:
Cold ham, reindeer salami, hardboiled eggs
Hard sheep cheese, feta, mature cheddar (for Rob), sliced pickles
Potato salad, beetroot salad, pickled herring
Bread and butter
Meatballs, cocktail sausages, green beans, peas, steamed potatoes
Rice pudding and fruit salad
Pepperkakor

sogwife: "Cool!"
Kid: "Wait. What?"
Me: "Yeah, she's in England, so it's probably not as much a 'boo-hoo, they cooked Rudolph!' situation."
Kid: "*cry* [note: she says the WORD "cry", but is not actually crying]. That's horrible! They have Christmas in England!" [she's amused, not actually horrified]
Me: "Yes, but they have different traditions around Father Christmas and stuff. Maybe the reindeer aren't automatically associated with Rudolph."

Rob loved it though.
(The point being, it's Swedish, not English - English people would mostly be horrified).
