Cryin walkin sleepin talkin livin doll

Sorely lackin the terminal G, however...

So yes, Linnea will still walk only a step or two, until she sees that she's not actually holding on to anything. She did it today with a witness who wasn't me (and still isn't, luckily enough for all concerned) but still hasn't performed for Daddy. I've met mothers who would now declare their infant to be Walking, but I'm reluctant to do that until she walks deliberately.

That's where her doll-like traits begin and end, really - cyring, walking, sleeping and talking. I do also got to do my bes' to please her, but that's more because she has a very assertive personality (and I'm a soft touch / affectionate mother / conscientious primary caregiver [delete as applicable]).

She likes to eat; finger foods include banana, pear, omelette, rice cakes, potato, carrot, parsnip, lumps of meat from stew, strips of chicken from roasts, cooked bell peppers, courgettes, cucumber... I can't remember what else. Lots. We're still cautious about creating sensitivites to common allergens, because of her milk intolerance, so we're holding off on wheat, gluten, tomato, soya, and goats' and cows' milk.

I like to eat: chocolate, candied ginger, biscuits. The recent discovery of green tea continues to be a source of mild delight and caffeination.

Today I had an unexpected phonecall that made me blush. I feel popular. It's easy to tell when one is popular - it's when the people one cares about call one out of the blue.

This is going to be a hectic summer. We're trying to work out how to fit everything in, and it hasn't started yet. It does include a long holiday for me with my mother, which is fantastic.

How cool :)

Kate was the same & spent months cruising & taking the odd step or 2, but I didn't count her as walking until she could do it totally unaided & all the time.

It depends on just what her intolerance is to, but it's usually lactose, so goat's and sheep's milk should be fine (and a Good Thing unless she has another source of calcium!)

JA has never had a problem with wheat/gluten, or tomatoes. She's also ok with soya, although we try to keep the level of that down.

Have you tried L with yoghurt? I was told that there's less of a problem with yoghurt and cheese than with milk and it turned out to be true. While me having milk really affected YoungBloke, he had absolutely no trouble with yoghurt or fromage frais.

YoungBloke still isn't walking, at 15 months. He'll take the occasional step or two if he absolutely has to but like you I don't call that walking. He didn't even attempt it till he was 14 months - not that I expected him to be early since I was a late walker and anyway, he's a boy and they seem to do a lot of stuff later than girls...
