"Knocked me for six"

Someone was on the radio today saying that this flu was awwwwwful and had totally knocked her for six, she'd been in bed for four days!

Er, I thought it was mild compared to normal flu, because on my fourth day of staying in bed I was able to get up for two hours.

Emer's chest is rattling and her voice is hoarse, but the paracetamol is working - and where oral paracetamol makes her gag and choke and get sick and fight and cry for ages, we gave her a suppository in her sleep and although she did wake it was only for a few seconds.

Linnea seems to be about nearly better.

I will not get up and scrub the bathroom. It would be stupid. But I really, really want to.

Quite. I suspect someone on the radio has never had influenza before.

Exactly; I know I don't have flu because I can get out of bed. (Also the lack of coughing or fever are clues.)

Having had influenza 4 times (no idea why I am so unlucky) it really pisses me off when people are up & about with a bad cold moaning they have the flu. Getting out of bed on day 8 of flu is a major achievment.

Please don't clean the bathroom, it's not worth feeling worse for hours after the exertion.
