Fail day

Today is kind of fired. Linnea has a weird skin thing going on - her elbows, of all things, are rashy. She was screaming in her sleep at 6am. I'm knackered. I can't face eating but I'm starving of the hunger. Emer is annoying and Astrid isn't getting the attention she deserves. I need to hang laundry, wash laundry, bring in dry laundry and put it away, empty and refill the dishwasher, pick up the floors, blah blah.

So far I have:

Cleaned and dressed three children
Dressed myself
Helped Linnea a bit with her Khan Academy stuff and an abacus
Taken delivery of the kids' winter gear - ski mittens, ski trousers, hat and scarf for Astrid, tube scarf for me. It's all H&M's finest so not actually ski gear but it will be a sight better than last year's purple fingers and knees.
Made my own bed
Sorted the kids' clothes out - in-use and dirty laundry have been separated
Sorted a load of laundry ready to go on
Found kids' Girls' Brigade uniforms (need to seriously think about the enormous goddishness of GB, it's much worse than I initially believed)

13:15: Done:
empty washing machine
eat something, anything
bring in clean dry laundry
hang out wet
put on dirty
make lunch

Edit 15:30:
took hedmeds
Hung second load of laundry
Washed a special-wash skirt and started the machine doing a rug
Painted everyone's faces
Nursed Astrid down to sleep
Emailed next door's landlady about the music and got a working phone number, we hope, so we can speak to him about it next time
Got the girls an afternoon snack - they are now serving themselves cold potatoes and mayonnaise
Had a long conversation with Linnea about giraffes, mammals, fish, crustaceans, where lions and tigers live, how to cook lobster, flatfish, and laundry.

I would be genuinely fascinated to know what you'll tell them.

One more item for your done list- lived in the future! :D

Beavers is probably from aged 5, like Rainbows (junior version of brownies) Kate currently goes to Brownies, Holly gave up on Rainbows as really she doesn't liek to commit herself to going to something every week. She is worse than me for procrastinating!!!

Local Woodcraft Folk does not have a group for the right ages. I am sort of a tiny bit thinking about asking why and suggesting I could get involved.

Hmm. Well, there definitely used to be one at St George's and also one at the Salvation Army in the town centre, and another at English Martyrs up near Prospect Park. They can't all have closed down!
