It's O So Quiet

A family of five descended on us like an inverse swarm of locusts, fed us, and bore off my firstborn. Mainly because they were leaving to go to town and she sat down and cried "My need a go a town TOO!"

Baby George on the Archers triggers my letdown reflex.

It's terribly, terribly quiet. I have a hot cup of tea and a book (Nuala O'Faolain "my dream of you") and the smell of cigarette smoke wafting in from outdoors. Emer is asleep in the next room, making occasional cheerful moaning noises.

It's lovely.

Enjoy it while it lasts :-)

I imagine it's nice that Linnea is confident enough to go places without you. Nice and a little sad, too. But mostly nice.

Can I just say that it sounds like evidence of two and a half years of the right kind of parenting, that even right after the arrival of a little sibling, she doesn't just need Mum, she also needs to "go a town"! She must be certain that Mum will be there when she gets back.

I love hearing about Linnea.

I like the image of reverse locusts!

Of course, because she doesn't go to nursery she'll never learn to socialise...

Sounds fab :) I enjoy my peaceful afternoons when Kate is at nursery & it's just Holls & I. No fighting, no shouting & no crying :)

Baby George on the Archers triggers my letdown reflex.

That is both very very sad and totally hilarious. Sorry, but it is.

Glad you enjoyed it :)

I walked into town thinking, "oh no, people will think I'm some mad woman with 5 children" as Nea fits in perfectly on the end! Three out of four of them are coming up to birthdays, so atm they're approaching 10, 8, nearly 6, and 4 in 12 days.

Like the new look.
