I had a different set of issues with the first practice I registered with here, and there's not a lot of choice where I live anyway. But they were serious issues and so having been told that my Doctor would refuse to 'release' me as a patient to the next nearest practice, I wrote to the local [insert whatever they call the NHS registering bureucracy in Reading these days]. Within three weeks they wrote back apologising that I had problems my doc, agreeing that it would be best if I moved and confirming that the head of the next nearest practice had agreed to take me as a patient so there was no need for me to be further humiliated by the evil-bitch-troll that is the local doctor in Burghfield. I suggest you ask to switch to a Reading surgery that has someone who specialises in gynaecological issues, explaining the problems you've had. I expect they will do it very fast.
