I'm 52 and had my babies in the years when "Breast is best" first came out ... and I remember my NCT ante-natal teacher bending over backwards to encourage mums to a) TRY to breast-feed b) understand some of the mechanics and finally c) accept what life has thrown at them if they *really* don't want to or can't breastfeed. I *love* to see a baby at the breast and it still disturbs me to see a baby bottle-fed, though obviously not as much as it would to see a baby starving and/or a mum destroying her health by her attempts to breast-feed. Your post was very moving and I have soft tears on my cheeks still. I agree with what someone else said. You *should* submit this as an article to a parenting magazine or three. It would do so much good. Thank you for writing it. :-)
