Ask me a question or give me a topic that isn't about my children or parenting, and I will write you a post in which I pretend to be an interesting and well-rounded person.

I'm not sure I can do this, because it seems to me that everything in my life relates to ethical consumerism, children, and feminism, all linked in together, but I'll try! I think as long as I don't mention how things are directly related to my children or parenting I might get away with it.

Do you have an opinion on the status of the Irish language? Is it moribund, vital, in between? Is the money being put into sustaining/promoting it well spent, or is it too much, too little, or put into the wrong areas?

(And, out of curiosity, though it has little bearing on being interesting or well-rounded: do you speak Irish? How well? Did you learn it at home or at school?)

"Vital" is probably a false friend from German. FWIW, I meant "full of vitality; alive and kicking" rather than "essential; necessary".
